At the center for Health Management Studies and Research we believe that the health care sector in our country needs drastic changes in its work force. We would like to bring about that revolution by training individuals in various areas of health and hospital management.

Currently we do not have standards of operations and management for hospitals. It is probably one of the biggest drawbacks of our health care industry. We would like to change that through development of skill sets and through capacity building so that new dynamism and leadership in health care can emerge.

What are my career prospects after studying at the BVUCHMSR?

• The need for health care staff and workers in our country in enormous. The PGDHM course is designed to create and develop managers and leaders for health care institutions. On completion of the course individuals will be able to seek job opportunities at middle and upper management level in hospitals. Individuals with some managerial work experience will be more confident to pursue senior level positions after successfully completing the PGDHM

• While there is a great need for health care leaders, there is an even greater need for specialised health care staff at the administrative level. Hospitals lack the advantage of recruiting staff that are specially trained to work in hospitals. The MHA provides this opportunity to individuals who are keen on making a career in the health care sector. After successfully completing the MHA students will be able to apply for executive positions and lead and manage administrative teams

• Nursing and paramedic staff who wish to further enhance their career prospects can aim towards integrating their clinical skills with managerial capabilities to lead clinical teams and crucial departments like the operating theatre, intensive care units and emergency departments.
